Haughton Design Limited sometimes requires
additional staff or
sub-contract/freelance designers for large or urgent projects, so we
are
always interested in high quality people with first class engineering
design skills.
If you have extensive design experience
using SolidWorks, CATIA v5
or any other 3D package, together with formal training and have an
absolute minimum of HNC in mechanical or production engineering, we
could be interested in your services. We need people who are highly
motivated and want to be the best around. If you just want an ordinary
job or don’t want to make a difference we are not the company for
you!

Job Description |
Haughton Design require a fully qualified Stafford or West Midlands based design engineer, capable of working on their own initiative and with at least 10 years experience. We need someone looking for a challenge and eager to learn more through a variety of interesting work in diverse industries from Agriculture to Aerospace. HD have a strong, friendly and supportive team who will ensure you are up to speed quickly and comfortable with our work. Your career will benefit from working directly with a variety of highly skilled consultants and clients too. You will receive the recognition and satisfaction of winning, designing and delivering cutting edge designs for a range of high profile clients throughout the UK.
This is a significant appointment for Haughton Design as your work and efforts will have a direct influence on the development of the mechanical design team and company as a whole.

Experience Required |
At least 10 years design experience, ideally with a combination of product and mechanical design skills. Ability to undertake mechanical calculations and a good understanding of FEA. A good understanding of project management and it’s accompanying commercial implications. Fully conversant with the suite of SolidWorks software but training can be provided to develop from core SolidWorks skills if necessary. |
Qualifications |
Qualified to minimum HNC with apprenticeship or HND/degree level, with the ability to think laterally and focus your energy on the needs of our clients. |

Freelance Design Engineers
We require fully qualified design engineers, capable of working on their own initiative and with at least 3 years experience. We are looking for competent freelance SolidWorks & AutoCAD design engineers who can hit the ground running! We need someone who has their own software/hardware, who is highly efficient and accurate with their work.
Freelance Electronic Design Engineers
HD require fully qualified electronic design engineers, capable of working on their own initiative and with at least 5 years experience. We are looking for competent freelance electronic design engineers who can provide electronic design and development expertise from their own premises. We are looking to identify people who can advise on legislative requirements, design PCB’s and handle all electronic aspects of new product development.
